Union Minister Bandi Sanjay Kumar on Monday condemned the Telangana government for placing BJP State President N. Ramchandra Rao under house arrest, accusing Congress of appeasing a particular community ahead of the Jubilee Hills by-election and “playing with Hindu sentiments.

Hyderabad, August 12: Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Bandi Sanjay Kumar has strongly criticised the Telangana government over the house arrest of BJP State President N. Ramchandra Rao, calling it “a clear example of Congress’ authoritarian rule.”
Police placed the BJP leader under house arrest on Monday to prevent him from attending a Kunkumarchana ritual organised by Hindu groups at the Pedamma Temple in Banjara Hills.

Slamming the action, Bandi Sanjay questioned the government’s priorities.
“What is wrong if Hindus go to the Pedamma Temple for worship? This is nothing but lawlessness. Arresting Hindu leaders and BJP workers while sparing those who demolished the temple is a gross injustice,” he said.
The Union Minister alleged that the ruling Congress is acting with a deliberate plan to appease a particular community ahead of the Jubilee Hills by-election. He claimed the government is targeting Hindu organisations to influence the vote bank.
Bandi Sanjay demanded immediate action against those who vandalised the Pedamma Temple. “The people of Telangana are watching everything. Very soon, they will give the Congress government a fitting reply,” he warned.
